WICKES, Samuel Whittington (1893 - 1970). The Great Chang's Side Table. Circa 1935. A hand-painted side table with a floral pattern to the top and red and black decorations to the base and borders. Height 28 1/2". Breaks apart for packing. A very attractive magician's side table.
Owned and used by Wickes, who ran away from home at the age of 12 to pursue a career before the footlights, and later performed as The Great Chang, and Cellsus, the White Wizard.
