The Octoroon. Kalem, 1913. One sheet (41 x 27?). Color lithograph poster for the silent film based on Dion Boucicault?s play, on the story of a young man returning to New Orleans after the Civil War who falls in love with an ?octoroon,? or a woman who is one-eighth black. This poster for the part entitled ?The Indian Tells His Story.? Folded as issued, well preserved overall with scattered tears and losses at edges, a few tape repairs and holes in image. Rare.
