Maugham, W. Somerset. The Painted Veil, [signed]. New York: George H. Doran, [1925]. Large paper first edition limited to 250 copies, this being No. 111 and signed by the author on the limitation page. Contemporary quarter blue calf over blue silk moir? boards with gilt rules, spine titled in gilt with the initials ?D.M.B? stamped in lower compartment, printed floral endpapers, t.e.g. 8vo. Spine rubbed at edges with slight marring to upper panel, corners and edges mildly rubbed, front inner hinge cracked at endpaper only, former owner label ?Mrs. E.W. Bruce? affixed to rear endpaper, gently cocked. Very scarce. (Stott No. 22, Pg. 12).
