Limited Edition de Grand Luxe to 1,000 sets, this being No. 776. Contemporary half crushed red morocco over marbled boards, raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments, gilt centerpieces in remainder, marbled endpapers, t.e.g. Profusely illustrated with plates including printed tissue guards. Tall 8vo. Set includes Secret Memoirs of the Court of Berlin (2 vols.); Secret Memoirs of the Court of St. Cloud (2 vols.); Secret Memoirs of the Court of Empress Josephine (3 vols); Secret Memoirs of the Court of Louis XIV; Secret Memoirs of the Courts of Louis XV and XVI (2 vols). Spines gently darkened, previous ownership printed bookplate to each pastedown, small sticker affixed to each ffep; otherwise clean and bright. Near fine.
