Three Early Historical Texts Published in Spain, [one with fold-out map]. 18th century works include Epitome del Reyno de Italia, baxo el yugo de los barbaros?translated by Bautista Aguilar (Valenica, [1701]; contemporary full vellum, spine hand titled, woodcut initials and tail-pieces, 19 full page plates featuring portraits of the rulers in rococo cartouches; period marginalia in manuscript); Historia Universal de la Vida, y peregrinacion del hijo de dios en el mundo by Pedro Gomez Duran (Madrid, 1743; contemporary full vellum, spine hand titled, double column text, woodcut printers device, laid-in with an early vellum manuscript bookmark); and Clave Historical con que se abre la Puerta by Henrique Florez (Madrid, 1794; contemporary full vellum, spine hand titled, double column text, woodcut printers device + full page engraving of the Caesars family tree and a fold-out map of Spain during Roman occupation; later restored endpapers, mild dampstaining to text). 8vos.
