Photographs, route books, scrapbooks, and circus costumes will be also be offered, spanning the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Three Menagerie Prints. 19th century. Lithographs on paper. Including:
NITZSCHE, O. (unknown dates). Münchener Bilderbogen. Munich: Braun & Schneider, 1882. Lithograph. Depicting silhouettes of various circus animals and performances. Adhered to backing paper with tape across each corner.
Carl Hagenbeck's Zoologisches Paradies: Zoologischer Garten der Zukunft. Lithograph. The image features a family observing a mix of species, including elephants. camels, flamingos, and more. Glued to backing paper at some margins.
HUEN, V. (1874-1939). Animaux Savants. Color print featuring learned animals performing tricks. Hinged to backing paper.
Largest 17 x 13", others slightly smaller.
Condition
Generally toning, staining, and marginal tearing. Good.
