- Lot Description
[TRAINED DOGS] [PUZZLE] Le Th??tre Des Animaux Savants. Haarlem: Leer & Co., ca. 1890. Chromolithographed jigsaw puzzle of twenty-two pieces, depicting two scenes with ?learned? or trained dogs. In one, a canine troupe balances precariously on chairs, and on each other?s backs; in the second, one dog performs a headstand while three others race through a hoop spun on the ground by an anthropomorphized monkey trainer. Wood-backed paper, assembled size 11 1/2 x 9 3/8?. Minor chips at points of connection, but very good overall.
