[TRANSPARENT CARDS]?J.H. Bufford's Sons Popular Playing Cards. Transparent Deck.?Boston, 1877. 52 + J (blank) + OB (flaps detached but present). Sphinx, owl, and bear back design in pale red. Edges clean. Hold each card to the light to expose a hidden picture concealed between the layers of pasteboard. The blank card, when held to the light, reveals the text ?The Jolly Joker." Courts and ace of spades not transparent. Hochman O30.
