Half?titles, 2 engraved folding maps, 22 engraved plates, of which 6 are hand?colored aquatints (2 folding), in text vignettes and maps, errata at end of Volume III. Later half crushed levant, marbled boards, flat raised bands, gilt?lettering and fillets in compartments, top edges gilt, stamp?signed by Worsfold (spines gently sunned with a touch of rubbing along joints). FIRST EDITION, of this important account containing several journeys that Turner took while in the Levant. He visited most parts of the Ottoman dominions in mainland Greece and the islands, as well as the Holy Land, Syria and Egypt, and includes lengthy descriptions of two visits to Cyprus, noting local manners and customs and describes a meeting with Ali Pasha.
