Van Rensselaer, Mrs. John King. The Devil?s Picture-Books: A History of Playing Cards. New York: Dodd, Mead, 1893. Handsomely rebound in bright red cloth with inlaid court cards on the front board, stamped in gilt and black. Colored frontispiece, illustrated with color plates. Small 4to. Dampstained throughout bottom third of the text block, front hinge weakened. Still, an attractive binding for this classic treatise on the history of playing cards.
