A uniformed messenger standing beside his bicycle hands a letter to a man in military uniform sitting astride a horse. 57 x 41 ??. Linen backed. Two period stamps affixed to upper right; scattered restored losses, mainly along folds and in margins; expertly repaired tears in margins and image with inpainting; unobtrusive over-painting to upper edge and parts of left margin; Closed tears, repaired losses.
