BLANEY, Walter (1928 - 2020). Walter Blaney's Suspension 3001 Working Model. Circa 1980s. A working scale model of Blaney's well-known illusion, the Suspension 3001. In effect, an audience volunteer lays on a plank supported by two trestles. The supports are removed and the magician walks away from the now-suspended audience volunteer, who remains suspended in space. With dolls used to model the effect, two hoops, platform, supports, and accessories. Working identically to the finished full-size illusion. Dimensions of assembled apparatus (without dolls) approximately 10 1/2 x 5 x 5 1/4". Wood, metal, and cardboard construction. Offered with a group of documents from the Blaney family and Walter Blaney promotional items and photos. One of only a handful of working illusion models we have offered at auction.
Minor wear from use and doll's head loose, but generally very good condition.
Walter Blaney to the consignor; with documentation from the Blaney family.
