[Almanac] Weatherwise, Abraham (pseudo). Weatherwise?s Federal Almanack, For the Year of Our Lord, 1789. Boston: John Norman, [1788]. Printed wraps, stitched. Illustrated with a woodcut on front wrap depicting the interior of Federal Hall with the Arch angel, Gabriel, holding his horn over the Federal Hall arches with a scroll of Federal Constitution; ten lines of verse follow. 12mo. [22] pp. Mild toning, rounded corners, chipping at margins and along spine with few closed tears. The woodcut is one of the very few contemporary depictions of New York's Federal Hall, where the First Congress met, the Constitution and Bill of Rights were adopted, and Washington was inaugurated. The illustration is captioned with a patriotic poem. Inside, each of the monthly almanac pages are headed with a short poem on an American general, starting with Washington, and including Nathanael Greene: "The gallant Green with angel care / In darkest hours of stern dispair / Sought out the Lion's den . . . "
