WILDE, Oscar (1854-1900). The Canterville Ghost. Illustrated by Wallace Goldsmith. Boston and London: John W. Luce and Company, 1906. 8vo. Illustrated with 7 plates and numerous intertextual illustrations. Vi, 1- [124], [2, ads] pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board stamped in colors, front board and spine lettered in gilt (light rubbing to binding, some occasional faint foxing in text). Fine. FIRST SEPARATE EDITION OF THIS CLASSIC GHOST STORY. This humorous story was Wilde's first published story, and this has been adapted to film and television multiple times. The illustrations in this book are both macabre and humorous.
