William Jennings Bryan: Metal Donkey with Celluloid Button. Wonderful brass, or copper, donkey with a 1 3/4" color Bryan button. The donkey measures 7 1/2" from nose to tail, and 6" from the front hoof to the ear. Certainly from the 1908 campaign, as there is a Taft mate. The Taft example, with a button in an elephant, appears from time to time, but rarely does the Bryan example come to market. As a note, a donkey with a jugate button sold at auction in 2021, realizing $7,500. We feel this is one of the best 3-D pieces from that campaign.
In virtually unimprovable condition.
