[WISCONSIN DELLS]. Hand-Painted Wooden Sign for a Historical Landmark or Attraction with Shaped Edges. [Wisconsin Dells, ca. later 20th century]. Painted wooden sign for an unknown attraction or landmark, most likely at Wisconsin Dells, ?Homesteaded 1848 Deeded 1856". 25 x 32". Single-sided. Some wear, cracks, chips, soiling, with (later) nuts and bolts at corners). Near fine. Although it is unknown what this sign was for, the dates are for Wisconsin's statehood (1848) and it was deeded the year before the official establishment of Kilbourn City (later Wisconsin Dells).
