[WITCHCRAFT] MICHELET, Jules. Satanism and Witchcraft. New York: Walden Publications, 1939. First English edition, translated by A.R. Allinson. Two copies, in publisher?s cloth with pictorial jackets, illustrated by G. Christopher Hudson. 8vos. The first with a full-page sketch of a demon by the illustrator, inscribed to Joseph Dunninger and bounded by a box composed of a rubber stamp of Hudson?s name; the second with a full-page portrait sketch of Hudson by Dunninger?s friend and illustrator Mahlon Blaine. Hudson was, in fact, a pseudonym used by Mahlon Blaine; these two books are, therefore, embellished with sketches by both the illustrator and his alter ego.
