[WORLD WAR II ? OKINAWA]. Okinawa Shima Western Beaches Top Secret map. Map of Okinawa?s beaches, dated 20 January 1945, marking trees, fields, weeds, bushes, rocks, terraces, cliffs, and beaches, as well as roads, Yontan Airfield, Bisha River, and other points. 19 ? x 16 7/8?. This map, with several pencil notations, belonged to Bruce W. Weeder, a member of the 6th Marine Division. Weeder was wounded at the Battle of Okinawa on June 19, 1945. Old folds, small puncutres and tears.
