[WWII]. Laughter in Hell. Translated by Arthur Heller. Adapted by R. Stone. New York City: Universum Publishers, n.d. [ca. 1935]. 16mo. Original printed orange wrappers (some soiling). FIRST ENGLISH TRANSLATION. Originally distributed in Germany in 1934 under the camouflage of ?Neus S.A. Liederbuch?, this collection of anti?fascist jokes was illegal in Nazi Germany and would have been punishable by death if caught with one. The English translation was published a year later by the short?lived New York publishing offshoot of the German Left in Exile.
