The Beatles
offset lithograph poster, 1968, published by Permild & Rosengreen, Denmark. Richard Bernstein designed over 100 covers and illustrations for Andy Warhol's Interview magazine as well as album covers and a cover for Time magazine. Andy Warhol once said, Bernstein is my favorite artist, he makes everyone look so famous. The psychedelic photomontage of the Beatles' heads superimposed on nude men was received poorly by Apple Records, who promptly sued Bernstein; the work was also confiscated from a Paris exhibition by order of an incensed French judge. 24 x 28"
