Note: Another tray of similar design, with a variation of a harbor scene, was exhibited at the 1889 Paris Exhibition. That tray’s field was embellished with varied colors of gold ornamentation and was illustrated in Choice Examples of Sterling Silverware: The Production of the Gorham Mfg. Co. Silversmiths, New York 1889.
Excellent overall condition. Light erasure to reverse, no thinness. On the pictorial field there are some light scratches and one long scratch running from cloud to man crossing bridge.
