This work features the artist's famed peau-de-serpent (snakeskin) glaze and metalwork by Louis Katona. Buthaud was under contract with a Parisian Gallery and therefore signed his work J. Doris for the American market. Signed to underside of lamp 'J. Doris Original New York Made in France'. Molded signature to base 'L. Katona' and to underside 'France'.
One replaced pull chain. Light wear and scratches to stem and some oxidation to metal. Otherwise, lamp and shade are in excellent condition.
