Signed on exterior of face. Small hand on face acts as handle and lifts trapezoidal piece of the pot, revealing its underside, which resembles a temple and is signed with the artist’s first name and last name separately on two sides.

Ceramics artist Isupov came to the U.S. from Estonia in 1994. He works in porcelain using traditional hand building and sculpting techniques to create his unmistakably contemporary art. Isupov has an international resume with work in public and private collections and institutional exhibitions at the National Gallery of Australia, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Museum of Arts and Design, New York, Racine Art Museum, and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His work has been featured in numerous publications including Postmodern Ceramics and Sex Pots: Eroticism in Ceramics. In 2001 Isupov received the Louis Comfort Tiffany Biennial Award.
