- Lot Description
Civil War New York Bounties Payment Certificate. One page, 12" x 7-1/4". Official document resembling a stock certificate, Albany, New York. "Loan in Anticipation of the State Tax to Provide for the Loan in Anticipation of the State Tax to Provide for the Payment of Bounties to Volunteersâ€, each issued for $1000, redeemable January 1, 1867. Each are handsigned and beautifully engraved by the National Bank Note Co. New York. The four certificates are issued for different towns and on different dates: Paughkepesee, May 8, 1865; East Greenbush, June 2, 1865; Dunkirk, August 23, 1865; October 30, 1865.
