Rare stereoview of the Confederate torpedo boat "Midge". The CSS Midge was a Confederate 'David Class' steam powered semi-submersible torpedo boat built in Charleston, SC in 1864, and was designed for night attacks on Union blockaders, using a spar torpedo.
