- Lot Description
Spoon on the River, Staines is a 1917 mixed media work (watercolor and ink) by Ludovic-Rodo Pissarro (1878-1952), the eldest son of Impressionist master Camille Pissarro. This intimate and lighthearted scene depicts a reclining couple by the riverbank near a bridge, rendered with expressive ink lines and delicate washes of color. Signed "L.R. Staines 1917" at lower left and titled "Spoon on the River" at lower right. The artwork measures 6" x 6", with a framed size of 18" x 18".
