• Lot Description
  New ceramic pieces by Kobylarz hold the mesmerizing patterns which are signature to her paintings. From bowls to bells these sweet handmade objects are a perfect holiday gift. Jenifer Kobylarz’s abstract artworks are reminiscent of the Op art movement of the 1960s. Her repetitious shapes ebb and flow. They are disjointed yet balanced by a perfect combination of colors. Kobylarz’s incorporates complex systems of interlocking shapes and vibrant colors. She searches for simplicity within these systems, finding balance through geometric abstraction and reducing the composition to just the necessary elements. The result is a unique interplay of movement, symmetry, and spatial tension.  Jenifer Kobylarz has exhibited Internationally from New York to Austria. She has been reviewed by numerous publications including the New York Times, ArtForum, Art in America, and the New York Observer. In addition, her paintings have been translated onto plane tails for the British Airways “Utopia Project” and onto large-scale rugs by Warp & Weft, a NYC-based rug company.
