• Lot Description
  As a lens-based artist, I've been making work about people and their physical and spiritual correspondence with water for many years. In my recent work titled "Surface Tension," I explore the complex and delicate relationship between the materiality and the inner landscape of the human mind. During the Covid 19 pandemic, we were all cornered into our homes to avoid the spread of the deadly virus that was taking lives all over the world. Each one of us designed our own mental escapes to survive this captivity that was forced upon us. In this image, I am enamored by my nine-year-old daughter, Siya who was deeply immersed in playing with slime, an activity that allowed her to slip out of reality and enter her own imagined world".- Manjari Sharma
