(2) Russian Brass Samovar. Lot comprised of a pair of Russian brass samovars.
A Russian samovar is a traditional metal container used to heat and boil water, most commonly for tea, and holds a central place in Russian culture and social life. Typically made from brass, copper, or silver, the samovar features a central chimney that houses a heat source—originally charcoal or wood, later electric—surrounded by a water reservoir. A teapot with concentrated tea, or zavarka, is often placed on top, allowing drinkers to dilute it with hot water to their taste. Originating in the 18th century, the samovar became a symbol of hospitality, family gatherings, and leisurely conversation, reflecting the importance of tea in Russian daily life and tradition.
