(3) Royal Doulton Porcelain Platters. Lot comprised of three porcelain platters with fruit and vine painted imagery on rim.
Largest Size: 12 1/4 x 16 in.
Royal Doulton porcelain, founded in 1815 in Lambeth, London, is one of Britain’s most celebrated makers of fine ceramics, renowned for its blend of artistry and craftsmanship. Initially recognized for utilitarian stoneware, the company rose to prominence in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with its decorative vases, figurines, and tableware, often marked by elaborate hand-painting, innovative glazing techniques, and collaborations with leading designers of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements. Its collectible figurines, particularly the “pretty ladies” series, became beloved worldwide, while its elegant dinnerware graced countless homes. Today, Royal Doulton remains a symbol of English porcelain heritage, admired by collectors for both its artistic legacy and enduring quality.
