Sight Size: 25 x 19 in.Amos Amit, born in 1945 on a moshav in Israel's Galilee region, is a renowned batik artist whose work reflects his deep connection to his homeland's landscapes and cultural heritage. Initially trained in agricultural engineering at Hebrew University, he later pursued a master's in landscape architecture at California Polytechnic State University in Pomona, California. Amit discovered batik—a traditional wax-resist dyeing technique—during his service in the Israeli Army and has since become a leading figure in this art form. His vibrant, intricate pieces often explore themes from Jewish tradition, music, and nature, drawing inspiration from his upbringing and personal experiences. Over the past four decades, Amit has exhibited extensively across the United States, earning numerous national and international awards, and his works are featured in prominent collections.
