Amy Ragus (Born 1954) American, Large Scale Landscape Photocollage. Depicts a lush deep area of forest, with a bright pop of red berries in the lower center field. At first glace the view seems normal, but closer inspection reveals that the overall image is made up of several different segments combined together at odd angles through digital manipulation. Signed in pencil bottom right. Titled in pencil bottom left: "September Promises, Fruitlands."

Amy Ragus was born in Manhattan in 1954, encouraged by her artist parents to pursue her own talents from a young age. She trained as a painter at Wellesley College and Columbia University before turning to photography in the 1980s. Her work in photocollage has been exhibited in one woman and group exhibitions all over the world, and she is a three-time MacDowell Fellowship recipient which allowed her to be an artist-in-residence at Yosemite National Park, Moulin a Nef in France, the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Florida, and many more places. She was a founding partner and Vice President of Fine Arts Express, Inc. from 1978 to 1995, and served as Assistant Professor of Art at Regis College from 1995 to 2002, now working from her home studio in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
