- Lot Description
Anne Abgott (Born 1938) Canadian/American, "Birds" Limited Edition Watercolor. Depicts a tropical plant in vibrant watercolors. Signed in pencil bottom right on the matting. Titled in pencil bottom middle. Numbered 5/6 in pencil bottom left. Consignor believes it is part of a limited series.
Overall Size: 20 x 24 in.
Sight Size: 10 x 14 in.
Anne Abgott was born in Ontario, Canada in 1938, and developed a love of oil painting as a teenager. She taught art and wrote several books on the subject, but in 1998 she moved to Linville, North Carolina where she was attracted to watercolor painting and shifted her focus completely. She later settled in Cortez, Florida where she became a member of the American and National Watercolor Societies, and recently served as the president of the Florida Watercolor Society, still painting and giving workshops out of her home studio.
