Antique Chinese Bronze Incense Burner Censer. Antique Chinese bronze incense burner with pierced lid, raised pedestal foot, and hammered geometric design. Patinated.
Chinese censers are decorative and functional objects traditionally used in Chinese culture for burning incense during religious, spiritual, or ceremonial practices. Typically made from materials like bronze, porcelain, or jade, censers come in a variety of shapes, with many featuring intricate designs such as dragons, phoenixes, or auspicious symbols. They are often raised on tripod legs and have a lidded top, allowing smoke to escape in delicate wisps.
