- Lot Description
Antique Patinated Bronze Female Figural Sculpture. Dark-patinated bronze sculpture of a standing woman in flowing attire, a style common to the late 19th or early 20th century. The female figure is posed with both arms raised high above her head, supporting a small, rounded vessel that appears to be made of a lighter, contrasting metal like brass or gilt bronze, suggesting a water carrier or an offering figure. The figure's long skirt, loose blouse with draped sleeves, and what looks like a sash or jacket are rendered with naturalistic folds, and she stands on a dark, polished stone pedestal base. The overall presentation is that of a classical or academic-style sculpture.
