- Lot Description
BDI Mid Century Modern Style Side Table. The rounded triangular design showcases the glass top and the smaller but identically shaped wooden shelf beneath it, all connected by three checkmark-shaped pieces of brushed chrome in a truly elegant design. Original labels on the underside of the wood, one dated 04-12-14.
Size: 10 3/4 x 21 x 29 in.
BDI is a manufacturer of modern home office, entertainment, and bedroom furniture, founded in 1984 by Bill Becker. Becker grew up in a suburb of Washington, D.C., the son of a designer who built the house they lived in, giving him an early fascination with architecture, design, and technology. Trips to Europe in his teens instilled a love of Mid Century Modern design in him, and he obtained his Bachelors in Industrial Design from Syracuse University, quickly developing his one man business selling uniquely designed coffee tables through Roche Bobois. After pivoting to focus on home theater furniture the company expanded exponentially, now offering goods through distributors around the world with Becker acting as CEO and chief designer, focusing on sustainable natural wood, sleek glass, and metal home decor.
