Charles P Appel (1857-1928) American, Oil on Canvas. Landscape depicting a shore scene. Charles P. Appel is known for his luminous and romantic landscapes, and marine paintings in Tonalist and Impressionistic styles. He was a pupil of Francis Luis Mora and William Merritt Chase at the New York School of Art and of Frank Vincent DuMond at The Art Students League. The major influence on his career, however, was George Inness. Overall Size: 21 7/8 x 24 7/8 in. Sight Size: 11 5/8 x 15 5/8 in.
