Daum Pate De Verre Iris Bowl. Floral motif glass paste bowl with a yellow-green base to a muted lavender-purple rim.
Comes in original box.
Box Size: 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.
Bowl Size: 9 x 9 x 5 in.
Daum, a crystal studio founded in 1878 in Nancy, France, rose to prominence during the Art Nouveau era under Jean Daum’s sons, Auguste and Antonin. Known for combining techniques like acid etching, enameling, and engraving, they became leaders in decorative glass after Émile Gallé’s death. In 1906, they revived the ancient pâte de verre technique, which remains central to their handmade creations today. Daum’s legacy includes collaborations with artists like Dali and Braque, with over 600 works housed in the Museum of Fine Arts of Nancy. Their pieces are still crafted in Nancy and Vannes-le-Châtel, with stores in Nancy and New York.
