The Lady from Longboat Key is an autobiographical account by Edith Barr Dunn, published in 1986, detailing her remarkable journey from humble beginnings in Wales to becoming a successful entrepreneur in Florida. Born in 1920 in Pontrypidd, Wales, Dunn was the daughter of a coal miner. After moving to the United States, she worked her way up from modest jobs to establish a thriving business in Longboat Key, Florida. Her memoir offers an inspiring narrative of resilience, ambition, and the pursuit of the American Dream, providing readers with a personal glimpse into her life and the challenges she overcame.
