Gary Myers (1942–2013) was an American artist whose career spanned commercial art, Western painting, and three-dimensional work, including sculpture. Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, he studied art early on and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves before building a long professional life in the arts. Myers taught at Oklahoma State University–Okmulgee, where he became head of the Commercial Art Department, influencing generations of students while continuing his own studio practice. Known especially for imagery rooted in Western themes and craftsmanship, his work was exhibited and collected throughout the Southwest, and he also operated an art gallery during his career. Myers remained active as an artist until his death in 2013, leaving behind a body of work that reflects both technical skill and a deep connection to regional American art traditions.
