Subsequently, he attended the St. Petersburg Repin Academy of Art. He participated in the Armenian Art Exhibitions in Giurmi from 1987 to 1992, when he had his first joint exhibition in Israel. In 1994 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia, as well as exhibiting for the first time in France. His first one man show was in Beirut, Lebanon at the International Art Center in 1995, and in 1998 he became a member of the International Association of Arts (UNESCO). His Expressionistic works are often moody, melancholic depictions of feminine figures, incorporating symbolism and poetry at times. In the 2000s he began to focus more on sculpture, creating ceramic figures and abstract shapes, while continuing to work in oils and expanding into lithography in the 2010s. Today he is primarily represented by the Wentworth Galleries in America, and continues to produce works in his home studio, focusing more and more on color and light as well as using art for political activism.
