Jasper Morrison (Born 1959) English, "LuxMaster" Floor Lamp for Flos. Stainless steel, polycarbonate shade with internal aluminum reflector, and a transparent cord.
Size: 11 x 11 x 73 in.
Jasper Morrison, born in London in 1959, is a renowned British designer known for his understated and functional designs in furniture, lighting, and everyday objects. He studied at Kingston Polytechnic, the Royal College of Art, and Berlin’s HdK before founding his Office for Design in London in 1986. Morrison gained early recognition with pieces like the Thinking Man’s Chair and Plywood Chair, and has since collaborated with major brands such as Vitra, Flos, Alessi, and Muji. His work emphasizes simplicity, familiarity, and subtle character, an approach exemplified in the 2006 Super Normal exhibition co-organized with Naoto Fukasawa. He has authored several influential design books and opened the Jasper Morrison Shop in 2009. His contributions have earned him honors including the Compasso D’Oro, a CBE, and membership in the Royal Designers for Industry.
