LeRoy Neiman (1921-2012) American, 1973 Serigraph Print Expressionist Sports Illustration "The Shot Put". Created for the 1972 Munich Olympics and featuring a muscular athlete in mid-throw against the backdrop of the Olympic Stadium. Signed lower right, in plate and in pencil. Numbered 159/250 lower left. Framed.

Sight Size: 13 1/2 x 17 1/2 in.LeRoy Neiman (1921–2012) was an American painter and illustrator celebrated for his vibrant, expressionistic depictions of sports, leisure, and celebrity culture. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Neiman studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and developed a distinctive style marked by bold colors, energetic brushwork, and a sense of movement that captured the excitement of events such as boxing matches, horse races, and the Olympic Games. He gained widespread recognition through his long association with Playboy magazine, where his illustrations brought a dynamic visual flair to reportage and lifestyle subjects.
