Mark Raven (Born 1956 in Amsterdam) is a self-taught artist renowned for portraying the spirit of his home city since 1987. Known for his distinctive etching-like style, he combines traditional drawing with digital techniques to create layered, atmospheric images of Amsterdam’s canals and gabled houses. Raven began by selling his work from a kiosk near the Rijksmuseum, making his art directly accessible to locals and visitors. Today, he operates his own gallery near the Royal Palace, and his prints and posters continue to capture the energy and intimacy of Amsterdam's character.
