- Lot Description
This is a traditional low Asian altar table, likely of Chinese origin, characterized by its richly carved woodwork and low, elongated form. The table features three central drawers adorned with floral and foliate motifs, flanked by intricately carved side panels. The apron and legs are deeply sculpted with curvilinear designs and symbolic patterns, which may include stylized flora, scrolls, and possibly mythological figures or guardians. The upturned ends of the tabletop are typical of altar tables used in ancestral worship or temple offerings, providing a graceful visual lift at each corner. Its reddish-brown lacquered finish shows signs of age and wear, lending it the patina and charm of an antique or vintage piece.
