Paul Emille Lecomte (1877-1950) French/American, Pair of Color Etchings, Harbor Scenes. Signed in lower right. Information on verso. Titled "The Little Port in France" and "In Shelter".
Pair of framed color etchings of marine scenes of boats tied to harbor.
Condition: Water spot on mat along bottom of one.

Paul Emile Lecomte (1877–1950) was a French painter known for his landscapes and marine scenes, particularly of the Normandy coast. A student of his father, Paul Lecomte Sr., and trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris under Cormon, Lecomte excelled at capturing the natural diversity of France, from bustling marketplaces to tranquil countryside vistas. His impressionist technique, marked by a strong sense of structure and reality, reflects the influence of artists like Boudin, with whom he likely crossed paths in northern France. A member of the Salon des Artistes Français since 1902, he frequently exhibited his work and earned a gold medal for his artistry. As an official painter for the French Ministry of Marine, Lecomte's contributions to art continue to be celebrated for their vibrant depiction of everyday life and nature.
