Peter Max (Born 1937) American, Mixed Media Collage "Love on Blends 2006 #400". Multi-aperture collage featuring a collection of vibrant, psychedelic-style artwork and commercial advertisements by the pop artist Peter Max, including a central "LOVE" painting, various stamps, and promotional posters for General Electric, Datsun, and a retrospective exhibition. Signed lower right. Framed.

Peter Max (born 1937) is a German-born American artist widely associated with the vibrant visual style of 1960s pop culture and the Pop Art movement. Known for his bold use of psychedelic colors, cosmic imagery, and fluid forms, Max created instantly recognizable works featuring themes of peace, love, freedom, and spirituality, often incorporating symbols such as the American flag, celebrities, and planetary motifs. After immigrating to the United States as a child, he studied at the Art Students League of New York and rose to prominence during the counterculture era, producing posters, paintings, and commercial art that captured the optimism and energy of the time. Over his long career, Max has remained a prolific and influential figure, with his work exhibited internationally and included in major museum collections.
