Qing Dynasty Chinese Floral Enameled 'Double Happiness' Porcelain Bowl.
Chinese bowl with floral enamel on pale blue ground, with double happiness character on all exterior sides and interior bowl. Marked on base, The Great Qing Dynasty's Tuzhi Years.
Condition: Slight rubbing.
Size: 4 1/2 x 10 in.
Qing dynasty ceramics (1644–1911) represent the height of Chinese porcelain artistry, showcasing extraordinary technical skill, innovation, and decorative richness. Produced primarily at the imperial kilns of Jingdezhen, these wares ranged from delicate monochromes with flawless glazes to brilliantly enameled pieces featuring vibrant palettes such as famille verte, famille rose, and famille jaune. Popular motifs included dragons, phoenixes, landscapes, and auspicious symbols, often rendered with exquisite detail that reflected both imperial tastes and broader cultural values. Advances in kiln technology allowed for greater color variety, precision, and scale, making Qing ceramics highly sought after by domestic elites and international collectors alike. Today, they are celebrated as some of the finest achievements in the long history of Chinese ceramic art.
