Sight Size: 8 1/ 2 x 11 1/2 in.Robert Nisbet (1879-1961) was an American painter and etcher celebrated for his evocative New England landscapes and maritime scenes. After training in Rhode Island and New York, he studied in Paris, where he absorbed elements of French Impressionism and Tonalism. His work combined a sensitive handling of light with a keen eye for atmospheric effects, often portraying harbors, fishing villages, and rural vistas with a quiet, contemplative mood. An accomplished artist, Nisbet exhibited widely and was recognized for his ability to capture both the grandeur and the intimacy of the American landscape.
