Signed Roche (20th Century) Photograph Print of the Queen Mary. Signed photo print of the Queen Mary's smokestacks, seen from a close-up lower angle, presenting a unique silhouette against the sky. Signed lower right. Framed.
The RMS Queen Mary is a retired British ocean liner that sailed primarily in the North Atlantic from 1936 to 1967 for the Cunard Line. Built by John Brown & Company in Clydebank, Scotland, she was one of the grandest and fastest ships of her time, known for her Art Deco interiors and luxurious accommodations. The Queen Mary served as a troopship during World War II, transporting thousands of Allied soldiers, before returning to passenger service in the postwar years. With the rise of air travel, demand for transatlantic crossings waned, and the Queen Mary was retired in 1967. She was permanently moored in Long Beach, California, where she now serves as a museum and hotel, offering a glimpse into the golden age of ocean travel.
